Getting Back Into Shape | Part 1
It’s not a secret that part 0 failed miserably. That is perhaps the reason to why I take as much pleasure to be back on the long and narrow path again.
I was invited to a nordic-skiing tour with my best friend the 17th of January. It was a night tour from HenriksĂ„sen to Elgsethytta which totals 7.4km in moonlight. That experience was breath-takelingly awsome. Being out in the cold air (-15C that night), clear skies showing off the stars above reminded my why I loved cycling – getting outside and connecting with nature. Fitness is only a bonus as it allows long and nice trips. Real training is done up-hill – which is more than readily available outside.
Now, a month later I’ve done lots of trips and some cycling training. I’ve notices that the watch and maps are crazily inaccurate and that I trust neither. The maps does not fit 100% with reality and the watch often looses GPS signal in the hills. That said I’ll provide some training data for the last month based on the watch and garmin device.

While I know for a fact that this log is extremely flawed – but I take immense pleasure in seeing the consistency and increasing length of efforts being made. The main goal is to connect with nature and “get lost” – escaping everyday troubles and duties for just a few minutes. Going on nightly rides definitely helps that!

Using the “pulk” is a fanstatic way to spend “pappa-perm”. The little one loves to explore the nature and sleeps deep awaiting the next cinnamonbun.

Over the last month I have not lost any weight – but I feel a million ways better. More muscle and energy. The body and mind craves more healthy food and I can’t stop looking at skisporet.no! Hope to get in a few indoor-cycling sessions as the whether looks bad for the next week….!
